How To Create An Easy Hostess Gift
Tis the season of gift-giving and gathering, two of my favorite things! I LOVE any excuse to put together a fun gift basket. Today, I’m showing you how you can throw together a fun and affordable hostess gift in just a few minutes using HTV and adhesive vinyl.
Here’s What You Need:
- Easy Weed Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Oracal 651
- Cutting Machine
- Iron or Heat Press
- Weeding Tool
- Scraper Tool
- Blank Tea Towel
- Blank Mug
- Various Gifts (optional)
Tea Towel
Step One: Design
Create or upload the design you’re using in Design Space and scale it to fit the tea towel. I set my image to 3.5 inches long to fit on a 4 inch wide tea towel. Turn on the mirror setting and select iron on as the material.
Step Two: Load and Cut
Place the sheet of heat transfer vinyl on the cutting mat with the shiny carrier sheet face down and load the mat into the machine. Press the flashing start button and wait for the machine to finish cutting.
Step Three: Weed Image
Remove the excess vinyl from around the cut image.
Use a weeding tool to get the smaller pieces.
Step Four: Iron On
Use and iron or heat press to warm up the tea towel for a few seconds then center the weeded design along the bottom edge.
Cover with a teflon sheet or fabric and press for 15 seconds at 320 degrees.
Easy Weed heat transfer vinyl is a hot peel htv, just don’t burn your hands when removing the carrier sheet. I always wait at least 10 seconds.
