Decal Size Guide for Starbucks Cold and Hot Cups

Decal Size Guide for Starbucks Cold and Hot Cups

May 4, 2019By Kayla44 Comments

Hey, crafty gals! I’ve been getting a whole bunch of messages about decal sizes for the popular Starbucks tumblers. A lot of people attempt to cut and apply a perfect circle and unfortunately it doesn’t end up fitting around the logo. The logo itself is more of an oval than a circle so you have to actually measure the sides in order to get it right.

Lucky for you guys, I did all the boring measuring for you and came up with exact dimensions for both the cold tumblers and the hot travel mugs. So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty!

For the reusable cold tumblers set the WIDTH to 3.779 in and set the HEIGHT to 3.527 in.

If you’re using Design Space you just have to click the lock at the bottom left of the image to unlock it and then set the dimensions at the top of the screen.

  1. Click to unlock.

2. Set dimensions.

For the travel coffee cups you’ll need to set the WIDTH to 4.279 in and the HEIGHT to 3.994 in.

That’s it. All the information you need to create correctly sized decals! Be sure to pin these graphics for reference. 🙂

Happy crafting, friends!

These are the measurements for the starbucks hot and cold tumblers. I’m not sure they would fit anything else correctly.

Hey! When you download the designs they should just be black and white. Are you clicking the download button or right clicking and saving the image?

Thank you so much for the tips and the freebies, but the decals aren’t fitting around the Starbucks cup even though I am using the dimensions listed, so I’m super confused. Thanks again!

Do you save the images as a cut file or a print and cut file? Also your template upload as black but what if I want to do the outside circle one color and the inside circle a different color…is there a way to separate the elements? Thanks!!

How do you get the circle decals to lay flat without a wrinkle in them around the edge?

Since the decals aren’t perfect circle they wrap really nicely around the cups. I haven’t had any wrinkle so far.

These decals are beautiful, thank you for sharing! I was wondering if there is a special setting I need to use while cutting the vinyl. I have an Cricut Air and I’m using Oracal 651. When cutting the letters, the inside parts of the R, B, etc get stuck in the vinyl as I’m weeding. Any tips you can offer?

Hi, Does this work if you make your own design? I followed your measurements and I still get the weird gap in the middle. Do you know what size the inside circle has to be?

Do you deal these? How do you wash them without ruining vinyl?

I don’t seal them. As long as you handwash the cups and dont scrub over the vinyl they’ll last a while! 🙂
